Confession.

I am a bad blogger. I never ever remember to blog. I even bookmarked this stupid blog right where I can see it but for some reason my eyes always choose to avoid it. It’s not that I don’t like blogging, I really don’t mind it. But I don’t love it either. If I loved blogging, I would never forget to blog. I love ice cream sandwiches, and I never forget to eat an ice cream sandwich! But where blogging is concerned, I am Switzerland. Neutral. No hard feelings against blogging, but no love there either. Just something I always forget to do.

However I think my work ethic on actual video projects and overall creativity and good heart should make up for this particular character flaw of forgetfulness. 🙂

Anyway, the Putt Putt doc is going just smashingly. ish. I have lots of good interviews put together but I NEED ACTUAL FOOTAGE FROM THE MOVIE. Apparently Allen is going to show up at some point with the magical footage, and I am hoping it happens soon! I need to work in the b-roll with the interviews and I think things should come together. The main sections right now are the meaning/idea behind the actual “putt putt syndrome,” Winthrop as the location, quick profiles of his kids and the other actors, and a little segment on each major department. I am trying to focus on student involvement. I need to interview some more people… Sarah Soltan, Alison Sekerak, Grace Lemieux, Dalton Cummings… Shaw… anyone else that had a role on set.

Then we’re going to NEW YORK CITYYYY! So pumped. So we’ll add in the footage from that premiere with the footage from the Winthrop premiere… or we may end up making a seperate little premiere party thing for the DVD. Who knows. I think I need to talk to Allen in person. Hopefully we’ll be getting together soon.

I also helped with the menu of the Cabaret DVD!
And now there is talk of making a trailer for Putt Putt! The madness never ends.
Also working on the electives video… getting b-roll and interviews from the classes… oh joy of joys.
Next semester I will be working with Evan on our STOPMOTION EXTRAVAGANZA.
And maybe filming soldiers reading bedtime stories so that when they go overseas their kids can still listen to them at night… If that’s still happening?
And Jason wanted something filmed about his martial arts class?

So lots of video goodness going on here. No worries.

Putt Putt Syndrome Trailer

That’s right, for all of you who didn’t get the opportunity to work on the film this past summer now is your chance to see just what it was that we worked on. Verite Films has just released the first official trailer and it is available on Youtube. Here is your first look into The Putt Putt Syndrome.

and if that didn’t work, here’s the link straight to Youtube. You’ll have to watch it from home. Sorry!

Beauty and the Beast officially done!

The first few DVD’s of Beauty and the Beast were churned out on Tuesday. The DVD features an easy to use interface and a fancy menu intro along with high-quality footage and a cover designed by Grace Lemieux. Due to high-demand all the discs that were burned have already sold out. Once vacation is over the discs will start being produced in higher quantity. The sooner you order the sooner you’ll get your disc as we are handing them out on a first come-first serve basis. If you are one of the few who recieved a disc without a cover you can print the above image, cut it out, and there you are. To ensure a good fit in the jewel case resize the image to 5 x 5 inches.

Don’t forget! Other DVD’s of past years are still in stock and available!
Winter Carnvial ’09 – $5 (As showcased over the school network)

Cabaret ’07 – Practically free. Please buy them, we have too many.

Downfalls – Darned cheap. The One Act from…last year? year before that? I don’t recall. Anyway, you should buy one.

If there is a DVD that you would like that you don’t see here, please ask Ms. Shaw or Spencer Roberts. We should be able to burn you a copy.

X-Mas Week

I am almost done with my PSA, I need to fix he length quickly and then convert to quick time, the only thing stopping me is a couple of people who will stay unnamed who like to kidnap Stephen Speilberg…. cough…cough (Grace and Spencer). I will be done and it should be good.

Putt Putt Progress

This week I continued to work on the doc for The Putt Putt Syndrome. I discovered that we have at least until February to finish it so now I can stop stressing out as much. But it still needs to get done. It’s coming together… I want some fresh eyes (Shaw and Spencer) to look at it and give me some input because i want it to be good. I interviewed Evan and Spencer to get the student perspective… still have to interview Shaw, Grace, Lindsay, Alison, Dalton… possibly some others… so much footage that I don’t know what to do with… still trying to figure out the exact angle… good stuff.

Busy Week Ahead

We’ve fallen behind on our PSA. We had planned to film this past Saturday, but we were unable to because all the cameras were being used to film Beauty and The Beast. We’re going to film Wednesday. We’ll spend all of Friday’s class editing. However, I’m not going to be here next Monday, but Katherine and Ryan should be able to complete editing by then.

Hopefully, I’ll get caught up on my TVPs by the end of class today.

I’m going to see Avatar in Imax 3D in Saco this Saturday! I’m pretty stoked because it looks awesome! Grace L. told me today that the guy has been working on technology for the film for 14 years! That’s unbelievable! Hopefully, it’ll live up to all the hype. Anyway, I’m gonna bounce now.
