Youtube

In a new article “Formatting for YouTube“, by Kyle Cassidy, He explains the basics to uploading and distributing your videos through YouTube. From VHS to DVDs to being able to upload videos directly from ones cell phones, the technology of video sharing has come to a climax. Instead of having to send in hard formats of video to a company to upload; one can now plug a digital camera or a cell phone into their computer and as long as it meets certain guidelines, it could not be easier.

As shown “here“, the recommendations for a video are 2-3 minutes to keep an easily bored crowd consumed in interest, however limitations are that of 10 minutes. Also a video that is being uploaded must be under 2 gigs in size. After meeting the requirements, the video is then uploaded and finally converted into the YouTube format.

This rendering of video takes place automatically and can be used on all video formats. From ones Windows Media Player, to Quicktime or even a cell phones 3GP video. From these styles of video they are rendered and compressed into an FLV or H.264, which are extremely small renditions of the original which can be played on an iPod without using a flash player!

Finally YouTube has expanded from an original formatting, to being able to produce HD quality of 720P and 1080P, which have led to awesome video quality for the average browser. In conclusion, Share your videos, make them quick and interesting. Do not worry about what you make them on, but larger videos will take more time to upload. Lastly, remember the golden rule. Give citation for the information, music and products you are using and never infringe on copyright!
